Privacy Policy

Parkabout is an app that connects drivers with locals who have a spare driveway or parking spot. It is operated by ME MORE COOL PTY. LTD. (ABN 45 611 538 697), Sydney, Australia (“we”). This policy explains what we collect through the Parkabout app and this website, why, who can see it, and how to have it deleted. We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

What we collect

• Your first name, which you type in when you first open the app. Hosts see it on requests you send; drivers see a host's name once a booking is accepted.
• Sign-in details, if you choose to sign in with Apple or Google: your name, email address (which may be an Apple private relay address) and an account identifier, provided through Google Firebase Authentication. Signing in is optional.
• Listing details, if you list a driveway: street address, suburb, price, how many cars it takes, and the position you pin on the map.
• Booking requests: the destination you choose (a venue name or an address you search for, and its map position), the most you're willing to pay, and when you sent it.
• Device information: a random identifier the app creates on your phone, and a push notification token so hosts can be alerted to new requests.
• Network information: your IP address, which our hosting provider logs, and which we keep for up to three days to limit abuse.
• Waitlist details, if you joined the waitlist on this website: your name, email, whether you want to park or host, your suburb and any message you wrote. These aren't linked to the app.

The app does not track where you are. It never collects your location in the background. If you report that you couldn't park at a booking you paid for through Parkabout, the app asks for your location once. We keep only how far you were from the driveway, not where you were, along with any note you write, and we show both to the host so they can answer your report.

Who sees what

• The map shows other people an approximate position for each listed driveway (moved 120–260 metres from the real one) and its price, never the street address.
• A host's exact address is shared only with the driver whose request that host accepts.
• Hosts see the first name of drivers whose requests reach them, and the destination those drivers are heading to.

Payments

At the moment drivers pay hosts directly, in person. Parkabout does not process those payments and never sees them. If we introduce in-app payments, card details will be collected and held by Stripe, our payment provider; we would never see or store your full card number.

Services we rely on

We use these providers to run Parkabout. Some store or process data outside Australia, mainly in the United States.

• Vercel: hosts our servers and this website.
• Neon: our database.
• Google Firebase: sign-in and push notifications.
• Apple: Sign in with Apple and push notifications on iPhone.
• OpenStreetMap: map images, and address search (the text you type into the search box is sent to its Nominatim service).
• Stripe: payments, only if in-app payments are switched on.

We do not sell your information, show ads, or track you across other apps and websites.

How long we keep it, and deleting it

We keep your details while you use Parkabout. You can delete them at any time in the app under Account: Delete account if you're signed in, or Delete my data if you aren't. That removes your listing, your booking requests, your name, email, push token and sign-in, and any saved card held for you at Stripe.

If money ever moved through the app for one of your bookings, we keep a restricted record of that payment (amount, date and payment references, with your name, contact details and destination removed) for five years, as Australian tax law requires. If you set up payouts as a host, your payout account is held by Stripe under their own terms; we keep its reference so refunds already owed on past bookings can still be paid.

To remove a waitlist entry, or if you can't get into the app, email support@memorecool.au and we'll delete your data for you.

Children

Parkabout is not directed at children.

Access, correction and complaints

You can ask to see or correct the personal information we hold about you, or make a complaint, by emailing support@memorecool.au. We aim to reply within 30 days. If you're not satisfied with our response you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner at oaic.gov.au.

Changes

If we change this policy we'll update the date at the top of this page, and tell you in the app if the change is significant.
